Message to Titanium parts that will be used in a stressed situation (e.g. applying torque or bending). The color itself is simpy an oxidation layer, but it is an indicator that the material has been heated high enough to form an alpha-case hard shell which will easily crack when stressed and then propagate into the base alloy.

I would at the very least have the threads cut after the heat treat process so they are not compromised.
